Hello!
and welcome
to The Ugly Wuggly Puppet Company
Old
Man Stan On
NEW!
Everyone's
Gone To The Moon (..on
the square)
Here's
a nice sing along song from pensioner and good old Basildon bloke..
Old Man Stan.
Old Man Stan can be found in The Moon On The Square pub (a little
too frequently) in Basildon, Essex, where he lives. It's his favorite
watering hole.
Ideally located on the corner of Basildon Market between the betting
shop and the Towngate Pub , Old Man Stan spends many a happy hour
there chatting to Old Bill (the irish chappie not the rozzers) and
buying stuff off the Hoisters.
It's the first pub to greet you as you get off the train at Basildon
Town Centre, that is if you ignore the "Poofs palace over the
road" as Old Man Stan is often heard saying.
Hey.. Don't forget to pick up Mad Nanny's dentures on your way home
Stan! Ah well.. plenty of time for that and one or two more for the
road eh.
You're a gentleman and a scholar Old Man Stan and no mistake.. Mines
a pint of Spitfire (its got real spit in it!).

Just
an old
Man called Stan.. alone but not lonely.. And he invites you to pull
his finger!
Stan
was bored. Well it is tough finding meaningful hobbies on the cheap,
especially on his meager pension.. and then it struck him. Yes. One
of the Grandchildren had left a camera lying around. He decided to
send in a video application for Britains Got Talent 2008. Check out
the results below why don't you.
Old
Man Stan and Mad Nanny come to stay.
Oh
dear! After a rather unfortunate incident, involving a can of petrol
and the microwave oven over at the old folks home, Old Man Stan and
Mad Nanny have come to stay with us.
They will of course be made very welcome indeed, however, we have
taken the precautionary measure of hiding all matches, sharp objects
and pets out of the view of Mad Nanny. Just in case. Bless! She's a
delicate flower.. but extremely dangerous.
You
can check out these new arrivals and some more of the gang on the gallerypage, where I display new puppets once they are completed. Also I have a links
page where I list some of the puppetry related sites that I have
found useful along the way.
And
my main reason for this site..
..
and for me most importantly of all, there's some stuff about
a local project that I am very keen to get under way starting as
soon as possible in 2007.
If you are from the Basildon area (or are prepared to travel) and are
interested in any aspect of puppetry and puppet theatre, then
please do check out the
project
page.
I am hoping to find
enough interested people to form a working puppet theatre company.
All being well, there will be a whole host of stuff to get involved
with.
The plans you see here are just an early draft of proposals, just to
give the idea of the kind of thing I am suggesting. Obviously, as
more people get involved, this will change and develop as time goes
on. It's just some bare bones for starters. So
please take a look.. who knows, we might just find ourselves part of
something wonderful.
